The short version

Hammer DJ Services is based in Hamilton, Ontario and has been running events across the region since 1999. Weddings, stag & does, corporate nights, private parties and fundraisers, with talented masters of ceremonies, DJs, professional entertainers, sound and lighting.

Founder DJ Steve has been DJing across Southern Ontario for more than two decades and has been running Hammer DJ Services since 1999. He is a fully-licensed, fully-insured professional and a member of the Canadian Disc Jockey Association (CDJA). He is also, importantly, the person who shows up: the same DJ you meet at the consultation is the one on the microphone at your event.

How we actually work

We meet with you personally before your booking, so that every request and every detail of the night is settled long before anyone is standing in a hall trying to improvise. That meeting is where the timeline gets built, the names get checked, and the “what happens if” questions get answered.

Then on the night, the job is to be invisible until we’re needed. Announcements land on cue. The dinner music doesn’t drown out the table next to you. The dance floor fills when it’s supposed to and doesn’t empty at 10pm because somebody misread the room.

The music

A library spanning roughly the last 70 years, covering big band, Motown, disco, rock, country, hip hop and current Top 40, along with the cultural sets many rooms around Hamilton expect. Whatever your musical taste, we’ll build an excellent night of music around it rather than around what we happen to feel like playing.

The name

Hamilton is the Hammer. It’s where we’re from and it’s where most of our nights happen, though we regularly work the whole Golden Horseshoe and Niagara. And the promise attached to it hasn’t changed in 27 years: we bring the bang without breaking the bank.
